Prefer to keep everything on-device? Digital Note Taker runs Google's Gemma 3n locally (E2B for speed, E4B for quality) at zero ongoing cost. It's slower and less sharp than a cloud model like GPT or Claude, but it never leaves your phone, and it works. You can also point it at your own .litertlm model, or connect an OpenAI/Anthropic key for cloud-quality summaries.
The companion Windows app reads and writes the exact same notes. Transcribe on the go, then review and tag on the desktop.
An iOS app is in active development, bringing the same notes, tags, and AI chat to iPhone. No release date yet, but it's on the way.
Digital Note Taker isn't tied to any particular hardware, and it doesn't sell recorders. It's built to work with the cheap, generic voice recorders millions of people already have in a drawer.
